Freedom Waters Foundation Founder, Debra Frenkel, LCSW, was one of seven 2013 AAUW (American Association of University Women) Women of Achievement Honorees for her work with Freedom Waters Foundation. A luncheon was held to honor the women, in Naples, on March 7, 2013.
Picture a U.S. Veteran isolated in his home; suffering from PTSD; struggling to get out his front door; unsure of himself and others; knowing what he is capable of and afraid that he may lose control, so he stays home, alone, lonely, isolated, and sometimes teetering on a desire to live…or not.
Freedom Waters Foundation presents this story, originally aired on the Austrailian television program "A Current Affair", of Nava George. Nava is the first quadriplegic person to sail alone.
