NAPLES, Fla. – The third annual Kind Mariners Ball is set for Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 5:30 to 11 p.m. at the Naples Sailing & Yacht Club, 896 River Point Drive.
Organized by Freedom Waters Foundation, the dinner event will feature a lively “On the Emerald Isle” theme, a nod to St. Patrick’s Day, which will feature a performance by a pipe and drum band, an Irish fiddler and a harpist, plus a few other Irish-themed surprises, in addition to live and silent auctions, live music by the High Voltage Band and a keynote address by WINK News Anchor, Lois Thome.
The Kind Mariners Ball will raise funds to support Freedom Waters Foundation’s programs, which make it possible for over 1500 children with special needs and veterans to enjoy the therapeutic effects of being out on the water every year. The 2016 Kind Mariner’s Ball raised more than $200,000 and drew more than 200 guests.
Individual tickets for the Kind Mariners Ball are $300 and tables of 8 and 10 also may be pre-arranged.
The mission of the Freedom Waters Foundation is to improve the lives of individuals with special needs and veterans by providing therapeutic marine related experiences. Programs are currently operating in Collier, Broward, Lee, and Palm Beach counties in Florida and are growing into other areas of the United States.
Its programs include Weller Days yacht outings for children with cancer and their families and other special need groups, as well as sailing and fishing programs designed to specifically include individuals with disabilities, marine activities for veterans and their families, and a variety of boating themed special events. These programs are made possible by the generosity of boaters and yacht owners, the marine industry and the communities that donate their vessels and volunteer their time.
The 2017 Kind Mariner’s Ball is presented by The O’Dell Group at Morgan Stanley and sponsored by Advantage Services, Luke Brown Yachts, The Marine Industries Association of Collier County (MIACC), Naples Princess, Naples Yacht Brokerage, Pierson Grant Public Relations, Pinchers Crab Shack, Pure Florida and Steven Bowles Creative.
