Freedom Waters Foundation Friends are"Making It Happen!
And, the Gifts and Smiles keeping coming in numerous forms! The photos show the smiles and I hope that my words will express the generosity of our FWF friends.
Updates:
Tuesday's Mailbox Morning Unbelievable Surprises - What a Week! - FWF Thanks You!:
In addition to what I have already passed on, here is what came Tuesday:
- 2 Free hotel rooms for the artists of the Balloon Project at the Bellasara Hotel in Naples, 4 days - 3 nights.
- $2000 from the Third Street South's Association (Through Frank Russen, who is the Chair of the Painting My Tomorrow event) and the Third Street merchant's will also be hosting a day or more to raise money leading up to the Balloon Project which is scheduled for Jan. 10, 2010.
- $150 from a friend in Ft. Lauderdale to help us with some rent, and well, just help us as she always does.
- And, $100 from a friend at the American Yacht Club, in Rye, NY.
Also, one of our volunteers, Donn Schulte, has printed up our operating manuals for FWF Board and Advisory Board as well.
And, there was press too
Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County - Mark Your Calendars:
Weller Days - Yacht outings for children with cancer, other life threatening illnesses and individuals with other special needs. Children invited through Joe DiMaggio Hospital, Chris Everet's Children's Hospital, Gilda's Club and other Social Service Agencies - Upcoming:
Weller Day - Nov. 21 - Sibling Group for children whose siblings are going through a life threatening illness experience.
More Weller Days in Ft. Lauderdale will be coordinated in the next few weeks. Thank you to the Social Workers at the hospitals and agencies who are referring families.
Please feel free to contact us if you know a child that would benefit from our Weller Days. Also, we always welcome new Yacht owners in joining our fleet of hosts.
Winterfest Boat Parade - Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009. We will be hosting our Winterfest Boat Parade Potluck once again.
Ft. Lauderdale Adaptive Sailing - Volunteer, Hugh Keough has taken the lead and coordinated the next adaptive sailing day in Ft. Lauderdale. Things went very well with Ricardo Seidner's, from Access Boats USA. Another date will be scheduled soon. Volunteer sailors are needed. Please let us know if you are interested.
Dania Beach Flea Market - March 18-21, 2010 - We are now accepting donations of used Marine Merchandise in the Broward County area, to use at this wonderful fundraising opportunity.
Naples/Collier County
Nov. 1 - We hosted a Weller and Painting My Tomorrow Day. We had a wonderful group of several families aboard M/Y Lady Serenity. Please see attached photos/below:



On Nov. 15, FWF coordinated a Lunch Cruise for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society's Young Adult Group and their families. We had 35 people present. Cruise Naples, a wonderful boat tour company donated the seats aboard M/Y Double Sunshine and Pinchers Crab Shack at Tin City generously donated lunch for everyone!

- Jan. 10, 2010 - The Balloon Project - Kick-off event for "Painting My Tomorrow"
- Jan. 21- 24, 2010 - Naples Boat Show - Goodlette and 41 - All Volunteers and Participants welcome to assist!
- February 14, 2010 - "Painting My Tomorrow" Art Show and Sale - Sunday, February 14, 2010, 1-4 p.m. - The Philharmonic Center for the Arts. Sponsors welcome!
Sailing - All inclusive, accessible sailing, regardless of ability - In cooperation with Collier County Parks and Recreation - Season is OPEN!
The Adaptive Sailing program, managed by Collier County Parks and Recreation is now open for the season, at Lake Avalon, Sudgen Regional Park.
Days and Hours are: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 12-3 p.m. People of all abilities are welcome! Please call ahead with any special concerns: 239-580-9117 Patricia or 239-248-1120 Debby. We look forward to seeing everyone again!

FWF Marine Merchandise Program - FWF continues to accept marine items as a donation. We had such a successful time at the Dania Flea Market in 2009, that we are returning in March 2010. Please contact us for additional information.
FREEDOM WATERS' "Thank you from the Heart" program is a great way for you to show someone how special they are or to thank a client for their business, mark a significant birthday, anniversary or to give a very special gift - consider donating $500 to FREEDOM WATERS to underwrite a day's outing on the water for a child with cancer, his/her family and friends. FREEDOM WATERS will coordinate all arrangements for the boat, captain, food & beverages, as well as, the special guests. And, FWF will send a special plaque acknowledging your donation to you and your honorary.

We are grateful to all of those at Luke Brown Yachts who have personally put together this wonderful program that has already been received well within in the Yacht Brokerage Community.
